Global Outreach Consortium has fully paid the medical bills for a patient on admission at the Male Ward of the Department of Polyclinic/Family Medicine, Korle bu Teaching Hospital.

The said patient is a 28 year old sickle cell patient who suffered a crisis in both knee and the right joint of his arm and needed immediate medical attention. He could not afford to pay for his bills and therefore wrote a letter requesting for help from Global Outreach Consortium. He had renewed his NHIS card but it was inactive and hence, that was not a medium he could use to sort part payment of his bills.

Global outreach consortium came to his aid and helped him out with his bills. A representative handed over to the patient a receipt of full payment, which he further forwarded a duplicate to the ward in-charge as proof of payment. This covered the use of oxygen, drugs, labs, inpatient care, among others.

The patient couldn’t hide his excitement as he expressed profound appreciation to the NGO for coming to his aid.
